Nowadays we all know that fraud is everywhere because some people are just bad.
Today, I read one article from the Manila Bulletin USA that will help us avoid being fraud victim. Here are some few basic tips to avoid fraud:
1. Shred credit card receipts and old bank statements.
2. Close unuse credit card and bank accounts.
3. Don't give out personal information via the phone, mail,or internet unless you initiated the contact.
4. Never respond to an offer you don't understand.
5. Talk over investments with a trusted friend, family member, or financial advisor.
6. Require all plans and purchases to be in writing.
7. Don't pay in advance for services.
You can report fraud online to the FBI through its Internet Crime Complaint Center @ http://www.ic3.gov, which is run in concert with the National White Collar Crime Center, and they will refer it to the proper authorities. ( Source: Federal Bureau of Investigations)
